The HeartAches
Adding variety and a unique sound to HMC concerts, the HeartAches were formed in
2001 under the leadership of assistant artistic director Mark Lechner. The eight-man
ensemble quickly became a favorite of audiences with a blend of riotous comic material
and close-harmony jazz.
Having recently performed their first full-length concert, the HeartAches continue to grow
musically. Under the direction of accompanist Lamar Sims, the group has traveled
to Washington, D.C., to perform with Potomac Fever, the small ensemble of the Gay
Men’s Chorus of Washington, D.C. They have performed on the stages of local venues
such as Bar Natasha and Café 303, and continue to delight audiences during the season
concerts of HMC.
